Disney awarded new underground contract

Transport For London have handed Disney the contract to run the London Underground network.

The media and theme park giant plan to invest millions in the network's creaking infrastructure and attract hundreds of thousands of new visitors to the new tube rides by changing each rail line into a theme park.

Lion King's Cross

"For years people have associated the tube network with pain, misery, constant delays and the occasional horrific tragedy. We want to change all that."said Disney spokesman Ernesto Cockroupier. "We're turning the Underground into the Fundergound"

We are going Through

The first line to be rebuilt will be the Circle Line which will be re-named The Never-Ending Journey, The East London Line will be the Muppet Treasure Line and the Northern Line is soon to known as The Black Hole... still.

Plans are also afoot for there to be an Island On Top Of The World at High Barnet station and a Davy Jones' Locker at Morden.

Under The Sea

Critics have also voiced concerns over the price of tickets to travel on the network.

"Prices will be brought into line with similar rides in Paris and Florida." said Cockgroupier "A single ride will cost £10 but you can get a day pass for £20 and ride as many times as you like. Further savings will be possible after we introduce the new Crab card. Look its got a picture of Sebastian."

You blow my mind

Commuter activists are suspicious and have concerns about the new plans for all trains to terminate at Disney's London Headquarters in Hammersmith, or Space Mountain as it will be known. Cockgroupier was unrepentant: "Mickey works long ours bringing joy into children's lives. He doesn't like to be late home. He gets... angry."
